Rosa d'Oro Vineyards Primitivo 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

balanced between modest alcohol and perfect ripeness, this Primitivo is very large and round without overripe Zinfandel characteristics. oak is minimal to keep a sense of old world tradition and food-friendliness.

We have also planted Refosco, Negro Amaro and Sangiovese with the intention of becoming 100% estate grown in three years. We grow, vinify, bottle, and distribute our wines, producing 2000 cases annually that are sold primarily through our tasting room in Kelseyville, California. We also produce extra virgin olive oil made from our 200 olive trees. Rosa d’Oro farms sustainably at 1400 feet elevation and is family owned and operated. Read less

keeping with my current theme of baby inspired reviews....what if nero d'avola and zinfandel had a baby? it would be this awesome combo of new world and old world. pair it with ravioli.
