Rosa d'Oro Aglianico 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Known as the Cabernet of Basilicata in Southern Italy, Aglianico bridges the gap between Old and New World wine with Lake County closely matching its home terroir. Savory red cherry and deep black fruit backed by dark spice, firm tannin and acid, with minerality and classic undertones of graphite, iron, mint, herb and earth. Rustic yet refined, totally varietally correct, and very food friendly with a robust meal that can match it. Potential aging 10+ years, improving all the while.

We have also planted Refosco, Negro Amaro and Sangiovese with the intention of becoming 100% estate grown in three years. We grow, vinify, bottle, and distribute our wines, producing 2000 cases annually that are sold primarily through our tasting room in Kelseyville, California. We also produce extra virgin olive oil made from our 200 olive trees. Rosa d’Oro farms sustainably at 1400 feet elevation and is family owned and operated. Read less
