What to Expect
Carmenère is one of a small group of wines that thrives in its adopted land but struggles to gain acceptance at home. It still is used on occasion in France's Bordeaux region where it adds color and complexity to blends with its distinctive mélange of smoky, herbal and gamy tones. In South America, particularly Chile, it ripens fully and the wines take on added layers of dark berry fruit that gives it a balance rarely achieved in France.

What a fabulous Carmenere from Chile. It has mouth-filling plum and berry flavor. Silky smooth. Huge hit with us.
Carmenere is a fun new discovery for me. I have always taken a liking to root:1 cabernet (it's fabulous for the low-key occasions, and the bottle itself is gorgeous!) and carmenere doesn't fall short of this either.
Root:1 Carmenere is a fabulous low-priced wine with a medium read more...
