Rooster Hill Chardonnay Keuka Lake 2009

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

Layers of smoke, toast and savoty apples on the nose strike a contrast with the sweet melon and apple flavors on the palate of this dry, full-bodied Chardonnay. Reverberates to a rich, salted butter and toast note on the finish.

This ripe wine leads with scents of orange cream sherbet and hints of peach. Its flavors are rich and voluptuous, the fruit more like roasted apples laced with chai spices. A good weight for a chicken caesar salad.

Sweeter, more developed aromas of caramel, candied red apple, Boston baked beans and honeydew develop on the nose, while the mouth shows more typical Chard notes of baked apple and hazelnut butter. A touch round and flabby, but ends with a long, delicious, vanilla-kissed finish.

Stylish, with fig and pear fruit shaded nicely by a moderate toasty edge. Nicely done. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
