Black currant along with zesty red fruit flavors dominate this Cab, with hints of briar and earth that give it ample structure.
The nose brims with chocolate-covered raspberry and blackcurrant nuances. The mouthfeel is luxurious and welcoming, with the essence of blackberry, raspberry, cassis and a touch of bell pepper. The finish is light and pleasant, allowing this bargain red to be approachable young, while partial French oak aging adds depth and complexity. Enjoy alongside roasts, steaks, grilled vegetables and hearty casseroles.
The grapes for this wine come from a combination of different blocks, carefully selected from specific Doña Paulas 10 year old vineyards, from our Finca El Alto Estate in Ugarteche.A selection of French clones such as 169 and high quality local mass material are used. Vines are cultivated in a vertical trellising system with high density and drip irrigation. Production ranges between 9 and 10 tn/ha. At Doña Paula the vineyards and wines have always been managed using Sustainable Agriculture practices. 100% hand picked grapes are completely distemmed and then partially crushed. As a consequence, some berries remain untouched providing carbonic maceration character to the wine. Must is cooled immediately after crushing in order to maintain flavours and aromas, by reducing the level of SO2 needed.Carbon dioxide gas is dispersed over the must to prevent oxygen from being in touch with the juice. 48-hour cool pre-fermentation maceration is performed to extract primary flavours and colour. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks, for a period of 10 days and at 22°C with peaks of 28°C. Total maceration period is 15 days.Natural malolactic fermentation takes place at 16°C. No press wine is added. Vintage: 2009 Region: Finca El Alto, Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo Varietals: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Alcohol: 14% by vol. Acidity: 5,53 g/l (tartaric acid) Residual Sugar: 2,45 g/l pH: 3.66 Tasting Notes: This Cabernet Sauvignon shows an intense red color. Ripe, red fruit can be found along with the complexity provided by mint notes and cassis. In the mouth, it has great body and an interesting tannic structure. Its balance and concentrationprovide a lingering finish.
This wine is one of our best examples of well integrated oak, where expression of fruit, elegance and richness are the main attributes. With a red violet color, the aromas of our Dona Paula Estate Cabernet Sauvignon2007 present black fruits, blackcurrant and bell pepper, combined with spice box and graphite notes in different layers. It is medium bodied, with fresh acidity and a pleasant finish.

A dark violet-blue color,it shows a disctinct plum character on the nose that comes from the Malbec and impressive spice notes, white pepper and red fruitfrom the Syrah. It is sweet and has a pleasant mouth feel with fresh fruit acidity. This is excellent with grilled or roast beef, venison or lamb.
