Bright purple-ruby color; vibrant aromas of ripe dark berry fruit and subtle vanilla. Plush, focused jammy flavors of blackberry and plum balance with black pepper and nutmeg for a rich mid-palate. Smooth tannins present a lingering finish. Food pairings for this wine include rib-eye steak with blue cheese, Cajun-spiced sausage and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. 94% Zinfandel, 6% Petite Syrah. Alcohol 15.9%.

A big massive Zin with all the elements of real Zins back in the sixties and early seventies until the overly sweet and syrupy components kicked in. Too cloying. The finish is like drinking a dessert wine. Disappointed.
Best Zin ever - rich dark fruits, not too dry.
