Heavy notes of butter, oak - full bodied white wine that is very drinkable on its own
Very smooth wine with a long finish.
Exceptional! Every bottle of this special wine has been a hit - with all drinkers. While it's buttery smooth, the fruit bears witness to a wine that a simple drinker can enjoy. The oak is present, but only in the background as a compliment, as if the producer added it with a salt shaker. We prefer this with a meal, particularly spicy pastas and seafood dishes.
External Reviews for Rombauer Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros
"Rombauer Vineyards' Carneros Chardonnay has earned a reputation for being the benchmark California Chardonnay and the 2008 vintage continues that tradition. Delicious with intense pear, pineapple and tropical fruits, balanced with creamy, toasted vanilla. Refined acidity and hints of apple linger on the finish. Our favorite pairing for this wine includes grilled salmon or chicken with mango salsa, seafood pasta, crab cakes and arugula salad." -Winery

Winemakers Notes: Rich and vibrant tropical fruit flavors blend with toasty oak notes. Peach, pear and a touch of pineapple integrate with creamy vanilla. This full-bodied wine has a velvety and lingering mouth feel. Our favorite pairing for this wine includes pasta primavera, halibut and grilled chicken. Winemakers Comments: We have a unique style of Chardonnay that has developed over time with select vineyards from the Carneros region. The cool climate and clay soils offer ideal conditions for Chardonnay grapes.
An attractive, buttery, honeyed, flowery nose with toasty oak in the background is followed by a full-bodied, fleshy, muscular wine. It offers substantial intensity and robustness. Drink it over the next two years for its exuberant style.
Creamy and elegant, with flavors of sweet butter, pear and peaches, finishing with a slight waxy note. Drink now through 2005.
A sensuous wine that fills the palate with a full spectrum of rich, ripe fruit flavors of pears, apples, spice, tropical fruit and honeysuckle. This is a round, lush wine with creamy flavors and light oak nuances. There is a crisp, lingering finish of fruit and a delightful buttery note that is the classic Rombauer style.
