The Rombauer 2009 Merlot from Carneros is very typical of the varietal, with plum and boysenberry fruit character, notes of clove and tobacco, and plush tannins. A rich mouth-feel and plenty of toasty oak make this perfect for a variety of occasions.

Winemaker's Notes:

85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot. Deep ruby color with a crimson hue. Subtle nuances of cherry and mint aromas support an abundance of mulberry and plum fruit. A soft and supple bouquet of lush plum, cedar and hints of blackberry are framed with silky tannins. Blueberry essence builds on the back palate for a smooth finish. Barrel aged 18 months in French and American oak. Alcohol 13.9%.
