Rollin Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru Blanc Sous Fretille 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): The vineyard of Sous Frétilles is an excellent terroir and I often find this wine to be the mini-Corton-Charlemagne of Burgundy. The 2014 from Monsieur Rollin is absolutely superb, wafting from the glass in a nicely reserved blend of pear, lemon, a hint of the pastry cream to come, chalky minerality, spring flowers, lemon zest and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is very, very pure and precise, with a full-bodied format, superb mid-palate intensity, lovely focus and grip and a simply superb girdle of acidity adding bounce and cut on the very long finish. A beautiful wine. 2019-2040. (Mar/Apr 2016)
