Rojo Mojo Shiraz 2005
The vineyards are located near Villarrobledo on limestone and clay soils and the grapes are mainly picked by hand. The 2005 vintage was characterised by a production 30% smaller than the previous year. Extra ripe grapes and small yields generated a high quality level for this vintage. Rojo Mojo is a wine that is as bold and attractive in the bottle as it is on the outside! It is jam packed with red and black fruit aromas and flavours and there are also hints of spice.
I'm always on the lookout for a great value, and this was a big surprise. Very smooth, big red juicy fruit, and great nose. Nice finish. I put this in the "crowd pleaser" category.
My go-to, everyday red. Not great, but never fails to please, either.
