Roger Lassarat Pouilly-Fuisse 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Born on the slopes of the Roche Solutré in stony soil very rich in ammonites and other fossils, the Pouilly-Fuisse seduced by a minerality that illuminates the delicacy of Chardonnay.

This wine is *ridiculous* -- big and full of tropical fruit. Nose opens with some banana, oddly enough, and then shows some apple and wet stone. Pale yellow color. Notes of banana, apple, pear, pineapple and creamy vanilla. It's saved by a good mineral backbone, but tropical fruit is not really my style. It did go well with cider-roasted pork chops.
