Roederer Estate Brut Rose(NV)

Winemaker Notes

The Roederer Estate Rosé is full and round with smooth flavors and fine persistent bubbles. The extra measure of Chardonnay contributes elegance and austerity, which balance nicely with the delicate fruitiness of the Pinot Noir.
Winemaking

As with all Roederer Estate wines, the Brut Rosé is comprised of 100 percent estate grown grapes. Oak-aged wines from the Estate's reserve cellars are added to the blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvée in the traditional Roederer style. Only the cuvée (first pressing of 120 gallons/ton) is used; read more...

I've found this to be always a wonderful bubbly, and really a steal for the price. It's got a lot of what Roederer Estate's L'Hermitage vintaged bottlings offer, except perhaps this shows a seam when the L'Hermitage is seamless. Still, it's nicely put together with fruit and finesse, and a touch of creaminess. We served this as the toasting wine at our wedding reception and heard our guests enjoyed it as much as we do.

Roederer Estate Brut is made from 100% estate grapes grown in Northern Californias cool Anderson Valley. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the Brut also contains the ingredient essential to the Roederer style - oak-aged wines from the winerys reserve cellars. Light gold with coppery tinges, the Roederer Estate Brut is unusually complex for a California sparkler. Beautifully balanced, the wine has a creamy mouth feel and long, elegant finish.

Roederer Estate Brut, the first California sparkling wine produced by Champagne Louis Roederer, builds upon a 200-year tradition of fine winemaking that has made Roederer champagne among the most sought-after in the world. Roederer's winemaking style is based on two elements: ownership of its ownvineyards and the addition of oak-aged reserve wines to each year's blend orcuvee. All the grapes for the Anderson Valley wines are grown on theEstate. Each year, the winemaker selects a portion of the best wines foraging in Center of France oak casks. Aged from one to three years, winesfrom read more...

This is a very good sparkling wine -- creamy, toasty almonds with tight small bubbles that last a long time in the glass. This is a fantastic value for the price.
