Editorial Reviews for Rodney Strong Chardonnay Sonoma County
Milky at first, tight then turning very herbal with bay leaf and spicy herbs before adding pencil lead, leather, and tea tones. Dark and brooding with big yet suave tannins that give this a high end Bordeaux like mouth feel. Very fresh and with very fine balance to the creamy mouthfeel. The acidity is bright but integrated adding to the polish yet lean feel. Lush with good depth of flavor, this is a seductive style of winemaking that knits together deep fruit with good length in a suave polished style. This developed lovely green tobacco and green coffee nuances on the long finish. Delicious and really enjoyable to drink, this improved all night long 2008-2016 92pts

Another first for us, we paid $8.99 for this bottle. The color was very light, with nutty notes and even butter in the nose. Slight to medium acidity, with strong pear overtones, subtle notes of apple. Very medium finish. Overall ok, not sure if I'd go there again.
Another well performing wine. Very herbal - lime leaf and basil. Good acidity. Strongly acidic and comes over slightly lean, but overall its fresh and bright, and comes over well. Tasted at the Snooth PTP California Cab blind tasting: http://www.snooth.com/talk/topic/snooth-ptp-california-cabernet
Second time I've tasted this wine. The first was at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. Lost my notes from the fair but recall it being very good. Tasting it blind restrained my thoughts. This wine was very dark and muted at first take. It did have spice and black fruit as it opened up. Good tannins and balance but needed time to open out.

Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass.
Barrel fermentation in new and seasoned French oak added toasty vanilla and spice complexities. Creamy and rich on the palate. Encouraging secondary fermentation adds additional complexity, and in the glass the wine is both creamy and crisp, with ripe apple, Meyer lemon, wet stone, and spiced vanilla flavors.
Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass.
Full flavored and elegant, this Sonoma County wine blends crisp apple, pear and pineapples with a soft vanillin oak. A great choice for richer seafood and poultry dishes.
Made from three prime growing regions, Russian River, Chalk Hill and Sonoma Coast, this Chard offers lots of complexity at a good price. Itrsquo;s a forthright wine, rich in peach pie flavors, including the smoky, buttery pie crust, and is entirely dry. Amazingly good when you consider the massive production: 185,000 cases.
Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity. On the palate resides pear and pineapple flavors with spice and a refreshing acidity that will have you coming back for another glass.
We barrel fermented a bit less than half of this wine, and aged that portion in barrel for 9 months, offering the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the other half to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass. Enjoy this lively chardonnay now and over the next couple of years.
