Roda Cirsion # 2009
Color: Extremely deep, dark, almost ink black background with a red hue on the rim. Nose: Very intense, with many layers of a myriad of fine aromas. Very rich, deep, dark berry bouquet of great complexity. Hints of damp earthiness, chocolate and sweet spices of great fressness, intertwining to make a whole enveloping sensation of great balance difficult to describe. Taste: Mouth filling sensation of very rich, concentrated dark berry fruit with chocolate and mint, showing great fresness and very elegant tannnis that add to the sense of lightness and silky smoothness, giving way to a very long, satisfying finish. Amazing balance between the power of the fruit, the firmness and roundness of the tannish and the smoothness of the incredibly lingering finish, creating an incredible, whole tasting experience.
Dark midnight in color showing intense aromas of plum, chocolate, wood and charcoal on the nose; yet they don't completely coincide with the palate displaying tannins so firm that you feel your mouth getting chalky, medium acidity and a short thin finish. I see hope for this wine in the future, however, as the rich flavors of chocolate and dark red fruit are noticeable, they are still under a blanket of oak.
Blackish purple in color. The nose has a jammy black raspberry quality with smoke, vanilla, and cherry flavors. Big drying tannins in the mouth that seem to take away from any fruit that is there. Spicey though hollow on the finish. Maybe needs to open, maybe is lacking in fruit. Too early to tell. 3/5 [NR]
Pure fruit with rich plum, black cherry, chocolate and cinnamon on the nose, followed by hints of oak and smoked meat. Bright acidity and silky tannins are welcomed combinations in the mouth, yet I'm left with a hollowness at mid palate before a rather abrupt finish. Although this hollowness isn't consistent, it's just enough for me to constantly be aware of it. On the palate, there's more spice than bold and brooding red berry flavors. Despite the anomaly on the palate, I still enjoy this wine and would enjoy trying it again.
It is Yummy for your Tummy! Highly recommended ;o)
