Rochioli Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Little Hill 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

96 points Robert Parker: Offering flowery and forest floor notes, the 2014 Pinot Noir Little Hill reminds me of a DRC grand cru such as La Tache or Richebourg. Deep ruby/purple, with sweet black fruit as well as some rocky, wet pebble and loamy soil minerality, this wine, coming from the red soils of Little Hill, is just a beauty, a multi-dimensional tour de force to drink over the next 10-15 years. Drink: 2016-2031. (Mar 2016)

With three generations of dedication to the land, Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County's finest wineries. This family legacy began in 1938, when Joe Rochioli Sr. purchased land he had long farmed. He had the foresight to know that the soil of the Russian River Valley would one day produce some of the world's greatest wines. His son Joe Jr. embraced this vision and today craft renowned, terrior-driven wines built on a foundation of superb fruit. The result has been a decades-long tradition of outstanding vintages: Silky-smooth, fruit-forward Pinot Noirs; rich, opulent Chardonnays; and tangy, food-friendly Sauvignon Blancs. Always in demand, always revered and always rated among the best varietals to be sought anywhere in the world. This commitment to quality is unwavering and our promise to everyone who uncorks a bottle of our wine. Read less

Even better is the dense, purplish 2007 Pinot Noir Little Hill. This wine exhibits more meat, black cherry, and even black currants, with hints of smoke, camphor, and forest floor. Again, uplifted aromatics are backed up by a full-bodied wine with su... Robert Parker. A Pinot Noir wine from California in USA. 2007 Rochioli, J Pinot Noir Little Hill 750ml

The 2006 Pinot Noir Little Hill Vineyard ratchets up the level of concentration. Dark cherries, pomegranate, kirsch, herbs, and meaty characteristics emerge from this medium to full-bodied, lightly tannic Pinot. Consume it over the next 10-12 years.
