What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

The Rocca 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon epitomizes Napa Valley Cabernet at its best. Intense aromas of dark cherries and blackberries combine with more subtle notes of bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, sweet anise and a touch of pipe tobacco, to create an aroma profile that is fruit-driven but multi-faceted. This lush wine is full bodied and round, with a lovely satiny texture that surrounds the fruit character. The long expressive finish lingers with the impression of sweet ripe summer fruits dusted with coco.

A gorgeous wine, from the cherry and vanilla nose to the full, voluptuous mouthfeel, to the lingering finish. Cheap at $65.00. I can see how it won "Best of the Best" at a Paris blind tasting for each of two separate vintages.
