From magnum: Showing a fairly advanced color for a 1995. On the nose this is leathery and spicy with cigar box aromas over low black currant fruit. Nicely resolved, this is a silky wine at this point, still showing a bit of dry tannin on the finish but the flavors are definitely fading with rose petal accents to the slightly chary, roasted red fruit and dried strawberry flavors of the palate. he finish, though austere, shows impressive length and persistence of dried cherry fruit that has a slight mushroom edge. Subtle, but long, this needs food but is still attractive. 87pts
