Perfectly nice but a little heavy, with low-to-medium acidity and a stout mouthfeel. Along the way there's rubber, violet and berry aromas as well as chewy cherry and raspberry flavors. Modest on the finish, with easy tannins.
A vibrant red in color, smoky and lush on the nose. Aromas of smoke, leather, and plummy fruit. Opens on the body showing dense fruit and a long, complex finish. Spaghetti's ideal match.
The 2007 Chianti Classico reveals plenty of density in its smokiness, red cherries and tobacco. All of the elements come together nicely in this mid-weight Chianti Classico. The finish is round, harmonious and inviting. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013.
You who've turned your backs on the notion of vintage variation, lulled into complacency by Californian luck, Australian regularity, Chilean reliability - WAKE UP! Taste what a difference a date makes. The 1997 harvest was the best in years for nearly all of Italy, but nowhere are the wines more impressive than in Tuscany. This excellent Chianti exceeds the quality of a Riserva from a typical year, with a dense and luscious texture full of cherry, mulberry, and plum flavors, hints of anise, cinnamon, and clove, and long and velvety finish. Admirable for its concentration and balance.
Ripe and fruity with berry and cassis notes. A fine example of Chianti Classico from an excellent vintage.
Deliciously fruity, just brimming with wonderfully strawberry and cherry flavors. Light to medium bodied, with bright, lively acidity.
Ripe and fruity with berry and cassis notes. A fine example of a Chianti from an excellent vintage. Enjoy it with any type of pasta or tomato sauce.
