Editorial Reviews for Roc de Cambes Red Bordeaux Blend Côtes de Bourg
Wonderfully complex nose of moderate intensity with cherry jam and meaty roasted herbs dominating joined by nuances of shoe leather, cinnamon, clery, funghi and a touch of balck pepper adding complexity. Medium bodied and still prettty tannic upfront with good fruit balancing it out. Leathery and herbal across the midpalate with a finish touched by mineral and bitter cocoa and lingering woody tannins in need of time to completely integrate. 2012-2020

Fully mature, in fact, perhaps slightly past its peak, this wine displays plenty of chocolate, smoke, and coconut in a seductive style. As it sits in the glass, it begins to fade ever so slightly. This wine needs to be drunk up, although I suspect magnums of it would fully justify the outstanding rating I gave it seven years ago.
