Food Pairings for Roc d'Anglade Vin de Pays du Gard
David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): ...Fresh quince, lime, lemon and fig are garlanded in elusive flowers and laced with salt and chalk, for an impression that resembles a hypothetical blend of marginally ripe Chenin and Semillon (though the second grape here is in fact Chardonnay). A reductive whiff of smoldering candle wick is strikingly familiar from Loire Chenin. And no Loire Chenin would less vehemently invigorate, refresh, or 'mineralize' than this 13% alcohol Languedoc white rather curiously does. (Aug 2011)
