Matthias and Emile Roblin’s Enclos de Maimbray lies just above Verdigny, in the northern Sancerre town of Sury-en-Vaux. The estate’s 30-acre vineyard sits on chalk/clay soils--a perfect medium for Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented with no wood treatment whatsoever, Enclos de Maimbray’s Sancerre Blanc is archetypal stuff--firm, fresh and crisp, with overtones of white pepper, sorrel and green apple.
