Robert Young Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Scion 2004
Polished wine with smooth currant fruit, cedary oak and gentle tannin. Silky smooth and well refined. Nice cocoa hints on the nose. Very supple and it lingers nicely. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 3/6/10
Immense and complex, with graphite-tinged tannins on the aftpalate. Certainly deserving of some time in the cellar to let the tannins relax their grip a bit, this Scion vintage is yet another rock-solid effort.
Tasted (or should I say savored) it last night at L'Auberg Del Mar. It was was wonderful with the cheese and meat tray of Serrano Ham,Bresaola,Valdeon Blue, and Crottin de Chavignol. And, what really set it off was the beef tenderloin. It was just young enough for the cheese and light beef. I will try it again in 10-12 months with the same meal to see if it is as good as I think it is.
