Chalky, dusty aromas up front on the nose. Red cherry and earthy, black cherry on the nose with toasty notes, hints of truffle, coffee grounds and some black currant. Some grilled thyme. Toasty on the initial palate. Still hearty tannins with cherry compote, chocolate shavings, plum, a slight hint of salted caramel and a nice earthy quality. I could simplify by saying it's liquid chocolate covered cherry, but that would be oversimplifying it. It has nice layers of fruit and earth and wood. Built for food. Good acid remains and I would estimate it will lay down for another few years and gain even more interesting qualities. Finishes dry and on a bitter chocolate note. 88 pts. 5/31/13

Drank summer 2009. This was fine, but not overly complex. Had much better wines from Sinskey.
Tart attack with a big flavor. It's not bad. The finish sticks around a bit and changes to something a bit more earthy than the wine had in the mouth.
17% Cab S. Fantastic nose of dark fruits, a tad hot in the nose, but great in the mouth. Very fruity forward. Soft velvety tannins. Great wine and the cab really lends some structure.
