Robert Reynolds Merlot "rocky's Block" Lodi 2007
This merlot has a subtle and soft pallet with berry and vanilla flavors along with a dried cherry finish. It pairs well with veal, marinara pastas and hearty seafood. Robert Reynolds’ vineyards are proof that beautiful wines are within the reach of every budget. "Just call me Rocky!" is your likely response from this down to earth, no holds barred outdoorsman. Rocky, with his cousin & partner Don Reynolds have been involved in Lodi grape growing for over sixty years. Rocky’s desire is that you enjoy a glass with your best friends tonight!
Oak Ridge Winery was founded in 1934 as a winemaking cooperative of local growers. During the last 8 years a historic landmark has been transformed into a state-of-the-industry winery. Today we are family-owned and operated, proud of our heritage and passionate about creating wonderful wines.
Hard to find a good Merlot in Zin country of Lodi, but this one is quite good. Low Tannin, soft oak finish. Pairs well with Italian salad & pasta, bruscetta and red meats. Got another bottle and made jelly; Very good. I'll be looking for more.
