The Robert Mondavi Winery was founded in 1966 after a family split with the Charles Krug Winery, which had been founded by Robert’s father.  After heading out on his own, Robert settled on land in Napa valley, and in particular the famed To Kalon Vineyard in the Rutherford district. The original plot in To Kalon Vineyard was only 12 acres, but today there are 450 acres under vine. The Robert Mondavi Winery also includes the Wappo Hill Vineyard, which is a 400 acre plot in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. Within a year of its inception, the Robert Mondavi Winery proved to be a true pioneer, not only with the establishment of his winery but also by introducing and popularizing the use of French oak barrels for wine, European wine techniques, and the bottling of varietal wines. Robert Mondavi Winery only uses French Oak barrels for storing wine, and his influence and success led to the practice’s prevalence. Among Mondavi’s greatest successes one would have to count the creation of the Fume Blanc moniker for Sauvignon Blanc as well as the introduction of his benchmark Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet. Today Robert Mondavi’s legacy is carried on under the watchful eye of his wife who works with the current winemakers Genevieve Janssens, Gustavo Gonzalez, and Richard Arnold to ensure that today’s Robert Mondavi wines deliver the elegance, appeal, and character that Robert had intended. Bright and fresh aromas, not the most complex wine but it's crisp and has green apple and pear flavors, and a creamy finish.

Came across very light with little to no flavor or bite. Some citrus came out after letting it warm up a bit but still not much here.

Savory herbal aroma, mineral attack with mild acidity in the mid-palate.

Summer aroma with the smell of fresh peaches in a touch of honey. Citrus notes on the taste that is sweet but not overpowering. Balanced acidity with a well-rounded finish that is crisp and sweet.

California's Central Coast valleys have ideal weather for Riesling, producing enticing fruit and floral notes enhanced by slight sweetness and a crisp finish. Enjoy this delicately spicy wine with appetizers, cold smoked meats, pasta or crab salad, and strawberry shortcake.

Our Riesling exudes the fresh apple, pear, orange blossom and litchi fruit aromas that make Rieslings grown in cool-climates so delightful. Monterey County's long, cool growing season produced grapes with especially concentrated flavors, giving our Riesling an impressive weight on the palate, despite its moderate alcohol content.

You won't find a better Pinot Grigio at this price in California. It's just wonderful, with brisk acidity perking up flavors of lemons, limes, green apples and honey. Production was 111,000 cases.

Frank and enjoyable for its racy, mineral-scented pear and herb flavors.

They kept this one nice and crisp and basically dry, so itrsquo;s a fine sipper at a fair price. The juicy flavors star, with spearmint gum, pineapple, lemon and lime fruit.

This pleasant Merlot is a little tough and gritty, but it’s rich and candied in blackberry and cherry, roasted almond and vanilla flavors. Give it some time to breathe in the glass.

Good dark red. Aromas of black cherry, currant, plum, loam, chocolate, mint and graphite. Supple and fine-grained, with enticing currant, spice, menthol and mint flavors framed and lifted by harmonious acidity. Round, pliant merlot with moderate complexity but attractive balance and a seamless texture. The sweet finish shows some slightly gritty chocolatey tannins.
