I had this wine at Maggiano's in Philly on a recommendation and I thought it was wonderful. I'm normally not a fan of really full-bodied wines, but this had a great taste to it, a wonderful aroma, and went very well with my lasagna.

A crowd pleaser. This wine doesn't try to do any fancy tricks but is very enjoyable. Tannins are pretty well balanced now, so I'm not sure how this wine would stand up to aging.
Deep clear red/purple in color. Excellent nose (Lush fruit with hints of chocolate). Sits calmly on the palette and tastes of chocolate, cassias, and balanced tannins with a smooth finish
Outstanding! One of the best wines I've tried. Smooth, velvety, lingures and warms. Great aromas, you can taste the berries and spices. Just a great, great wine.
Flavors of blackberry and currents with a medium length finish.
leather, black cherry, and oak scent sweet berry with a bit of cedar
External Reviews for Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
From the vineyards on the Oakville bench - 64 percent from Mondavi's estate vines at To Kalon, the rest from Vine Hill Ranch and other Oakville vineyards - this has a lovely forest cherry flavor, along with a brighter note of Bing cherry, all compacted in layers of tannin. The chocolate richness of that tannin is what lasts for now, but the freshness of the fruit will sustain the wine as it ages. Open it ten years from the vintage with roast leg of lamb.
Genevieve Janssens blends this sleek cabernet from Mondavi's To-Kalon Vineyard with small contributions from other Oakville bench sites. It's an impressive 2006, with curranty sweetness in the middle of the tannins that makes them feel rich and stony at once. It gains detail with air, the structure firm, massive and finely made. This is an elegant cabernet suited to five or six years of aging.
This is a very fine, high level Cabernet that shows the impeccable nature of Mondavi Reserve. Yet it's also very tannic and far from being drinkable. Shows a vast repository of black currant, blackberry, black cherry and new oak flavors wrapped into... Wine Enthusiast. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2005 Mondavi, Robert Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 750ml
Deep, rich and concentrated, yet well-balanced, elegant and detailed, with mineral, loamy earth, dried berry, black licorice and sage flavors that firm up and end with drying tannins. Drink now through 2020.
Offers an appealing blend of structure and plushness, with currant and espresso aromas and black cherry and anise flavors. Drink now through 2014.
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville (94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc) has deep black currant fruit as well as notes of lead pencil shavings, camphor, and spice. It is medium to full-bodied, elegant, and rich from beginning to end, with outstanding purity, depth, and texture. This beauty can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years.
Classic Napa Valley finesse and intensity can be found layered throughout this stunning Merlot. Ripe plum and berry flavors abound, while touches of oak dot the palate's landscape.
90 points Wine Enthusiast: What's so nice about this wine is that it has full-throttle Chard personality while keeping everything so balanced that it's also a versatile food wine. You can't say that about a lot of Chardonnays. Mainly it's the acidity, but also the complex, subtle interplay of fruit and oak. A very nice job. (Sep 2007)
An inky wine that follows through on the promise of its deep, dark color to deliver intensity in every way. In the nose, ripe aromas of wild blueberry merge with a hint of black olive and notes of spice and vanilla derived from aging in new French oak. In the mouth, the powerful tannins are chewy and generous, and beautifully balanced by the wine’s equally dense flavors of black fruits—blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry and crème de cassis. Vibrant and alive with fresh acidity, the 2005 Reserve is a powerful wine that carries its considerable muscle with elegance and style Deep, dark color signals the wine’s intensity. Aromas of wild blueberry contain hints of black olive and spicy vanilla from oak aging. Dense flavors of blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry are enhanced by elegantly powerful tannins and vibrant acidity
