Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon California Twin Oaks 1999
Tart, thin, bitter, the exact opposite of 'full-bodied', nose : horribly indescribable. In a word ; (now excuse me, friends, 'cause I'm about to be frank, and rather unprofessional) : "Ewwww!".Add winemaker's notes
Thirty years ago, Robert Mondavi set out to establish a wine culture in America by putting great California wine on every table. Invigorated by the success of Robert Mondavi Winery in the Napa Valley, in 1979 he established the Woodbridge Winery near his childhood home of Lodi, California.
Tart, thin, bitter, the exact opposite of 'full-bodied', nose : horribly indescribable. In a word ; (now excuse me, friends, 'cause I'm about to be frank, and rather unprofessional) : "Ewwww!".
External Reviews for Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon California Twin Oaks
A little thin in flavor, but honest and robust, with thick tannins framing blackberries, cherries, currants and herbs. A very good price for a Cab this easy to drink.
This superb value offers accurate cabernet fruit with a light patina of oak. The wine was clearly made for enjoyable current drinking in the arena of everyday, and it follows through on its promise.
Starts off with a pronounced licorice quality, framed in smoky oak. The wine shows moderate body, with currant and spice fanning out on an herbal finish. Best from 2000 through 2006.
