We sourced our Robert Mondavi Private Selection Merlot from grapes grown in California's foggy Central Coast appellation. The long, slow ripening of these Coastal grapes gives the wine bright berry, plum, rose and spice character, with a silky texture and vibrant balance. The fruity style of our Merlot is versatile in food pairings; try it with Parmesan Risotto and Spring Vegetables or Grilled Lamb Brochettes with Rosemary. 97% Merlot, 3% other red varieties 13.3% alcohol by volume

Debuted with the 1996 vintage, our Robert Mondavi Coastal Merlot is made with grapes from California's Central Coast appellation. There, the vineyards enjoy a nightly blanket of cool Pacific Ocean fog, excellent soils and a long growing season. This ideal combination brings vibrant flavors and silky tannins to our Merlot. Ken Shyvers, Coastal Winemaker, believes that the approachable style of our Merlot showcases the luscious layers of berry, raspberry and spice with light oak nuances from barrel-aging.
