Robert Mondavi pioneered barrel aged Fume Blanc, and still makes one of the best there is. Vibrant notes of citrus, pineapple, flowers, minerals and lemon grass in our Napa Valley Fume Blanc. Barrel-fermentation and gentle stirring during aging in French oak barrels enhanced the elegant texture and lingering, spicy finish. Sip this refreshing wine as an aperitif or with a variety of delicate or spicy foods. Our associate winemaker, Richard Sowalsky, especially likes this Fume Blanc with garlic-infused dishes, such as fettuccini with rock shrimp and garlic, or Tuscan roast chicken with garlic, lemon and herbs.

Our Robert Mondavi Private Selection 2000 Fume Blanc captures the citrus, pear, melon and delicate herbal character of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Robert Mondavi created this popular oak-aged style of Sauvignon Blanc with his legendary 1966 Napa Valley Fume Blanc and has now extended the style to his Private Selection wine label, at a price for every day enjoyment. Stylistically different from our Private Selection Sauvignon Blanc, this wine emphasizes round, rich flavors developed through barrel fermentation and aging. A hint of spicy oak accents the elegant finish. This wine is delicious read more...
