What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Tasting Notes - The Napa Valley Merlot sports a vivacious nose, with waves of blackberry, black plum and huckleberry aromas merging with notes of tar, tobacco and vanilla oak. In the mouth, rich black fruit flavors mingle with a bit of spice and a hint of taffy from toasted barrels, all harmoniously integrated with ripe tannins. A full-bodied yet supple wine, this Merlot has good structure, with excellent acidity that keeps it lively. The majority of grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Stags Leap District, with additional fruit from Los Carneros and our To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville.
