Robert Foley Vineyards Merlot 2010
"This is the Merlot for Cab lovers. Dark ruby color introduces a ripe medley of blueberry/blackberry pie aromas. The mid-palate floods with ripe berry flavors that then introduce mocha, vanilla and espresso nuances that linger through the finish. An exciting evolution is happening… watch this wine! Bob has been making Merlot since the 1976 vintage when it was as well-known as Charbono." -Winery

Good red-ruby. Wild aromas of blueberry, mocha, espresso, game and earth. Densely packed and generous, with very good intensity to the dark berry and bitter chocolate flavors. Creaminess of texture is leavened by lively minerality. Finishes firm and persistent, with ripe tannins and considerable nuance.
The 2010 Merlot reveals lots of cocoa, chocolate, Asian plum sauce and black cherry liqueur notes in its dense, ripe, full-bodied, silky, hedonistic personality. It is hard to argue with this voluptuous, seductive California Merlot. Drink it over the next decades.
Combines good focus and structure with richness and power. Aromas of currant and mineral lead to flavors of cherry, mocha and olive. Should bloom with time. Best from 2015 through 2021.
