Robert Foley the Griffin 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

This youthful 2011 Griffin drinks like a Pomerol! Aromas and flavors of red cherry and red currant carried by an elegantly weighted mid-palate and perfect balance. The finish is graced with a touch of mocha and espresso and finishes long with very fine gentle tannins. The 2011 Griffin is a blend of 65% elegant and lush Calistoga Merlot, 16% fruity and approachable Syrah, 14% dark and rich Petite Sirah, and 5% soft and expressive Charbono. Delicioso!

During this period he also created the highly acclaimed Switchback Ridge, Hourglass, Paloma, School House, and Engel Family wines. In 1998 Robert Foley Vineyards bottled their first Claret, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and over the last 10 years have expanded and diversified their own production. Bob’s reputation for producing very expressive wines which finish gracefully continues to develop at the new winery facility on the summit of Napa County’s Howell Mountain. Bob and wife and Business Manager Kelly Kehoe house over 1000 barrels in an extensive cave system which they completed in summer of 2008 for the production of Robert Foley wines. When Bob's not making wine he spends quality time with his wife Kelly, his children, and his new grand daughter. You can also find Bob at jammin' at venues across the county with his rock and roll group, The Robert Foley Band Read less
