Winemaking: Grapes are closely monitored during the growing cycle and picked at their optimal ripeness, leading to consistent quality across the range. Another key to the process is the separate fermentation of each estate and the final blending before aging. The grapes are fermented at temperatures of up to 84⁰F to gently extract color from the skins. Vintage Notes: Unusual weather influenced the growing cycle. Heavy spring rains and low temperatures delayed the growing season and resulted in uneven ripening times. Fortunately, the risk posed by the two to three week delay was offset by prevailing good weather in September and October. Selective, staggered grape picking allowed the grapes to be harvested as they reached appropriate ripeness. Tasting Notes: Ruby red with some signs of youth in the form of violet hues. Medium intensity aromas of fresh dark fruit like blackberries and black currants accompanied with hints of licorice. It is clean and bright on the palate with pleasant flavors of vanilla, cinnamon sticks, and wild herbs. pH: 3.5 RS: 2.0 g/L TA: 5.8 g/L Alc.: 13.5%

The 2011 Crianza has a perfumed nose with clean aromas of red fruits and peaches, with a hint of pepper and cinnamon. The palate is round and supple. Very easy to drink. It is a good Crianza at a good price. Drink 2014–2018.

This silky red offers balanced flavors of cherry, red plum, tobacco, mineral and smoke. The smooth texture is supported by well-integrated tannins and gentle acidity. Harmonious. Drink now through 2017. 225,000 cases made.

Rubinrot. Langer Abgang.
