What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

91 pts - Wine SpectatorDate: November 2008 Tasting Bar Price: $2.00/taste Half Off Tuesday Price: $1.00/tasteThis is a Riesling for people who don't think they like Riesling! Dry, but with remarkable heft! Riesling tends toward the sweet, or else it can be rather crisp and minerally. This, although Alsatian, is not as mineral-driven as many other Alsatian Rieslings. It has aromas of honeyed apricot, an unctuous texture, and a well-integrated slate character. Try this with scallops in brown butter, and you'll be in heaven! -Rob's Staff PickA dry white that's well put read more...

Right from the beginning, our varietal 2006 Riesling was a very aromatic wine, but since the end of the fermentation it is still opening up and is becoming a hugely flavored wine with a strong minerality. The palate is rich, but not sweet, well balanced with a racy acidity.

A dry white that's well put together, with integrated acidity and a compact structure. A pleasant orange blossom note accents flavors of quince and honey, while the finish shows a hint of minerality. Drink now through 2020 Wine Spectator
