Riesling "Silberbichl" Stift Göttweig 2008

Member Review by Constance Chamberlain:

Winemaker's notes: Ripe aromas of vineyard peaches underscored by minerals and a touch of citrus. Racy and fresh on the palate; a delicate apricot note; balanced. Having tasted this wine myself, and declaring it my favorite out of three - (line-up included Neumayer Riesling and Hoegl as well) I can vouch that this wine is awesome. Very representative of its terroir (as where the other two), fresh, fruity and vibrant. Great notes of peach and apricot and a minerally finish... yum.

Mica-slate can be found in huge chunks on this “silver hill” where these Riesling vines grow in ideal soil. Aromas of pears, peach and marzipan with a fresh and fruity acidity that lasts long on the palate. Delicate and delicious.
