90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): Bright dark red. Aromatic nose of currant, plum, leather, chocolate, pepper and spicecake. Powerful and thick but rather aggressive; strong acidity leavens the superripe, almost raisiny flavors. Best on the strong finish, where the exotic fruit clings impressively. (May/Jun 2002)
