This wine could stand for some additional aging but right now is quite drinkable. Dark berry taste and nose makes for a pleasant finish. I plan to order more.

Big nose we could smell as soon as we corked it. Strong bright fruit on the palate with easy tannins. Acidity led to a lingering even darker berry finish. Very surprising for a zin. Had I tasted this blind I never would have known(I like bold and earthy/spicy zins as a baseline) and thought instead a 15 year-old BDX blend 50/50... What does that say for strong zin lovers? I don't know. But this is a great wine for all med-full bodied red lovers and me and my nephew abandoned all thoughts of food pairing and devoured by itself. Screw the rec's this will develop complexity till 2019. Buy it now(2011 tasting), buy as much as you can while it's slightly under $30 a bottle, drink as much as you can this year and if you can squirrel away some more for 2012, do it. But don't wait on this one, it's that good!

Deep garnet. Concentrated plum, black cherry. Gravelly earth, rich chocolate. Dark, juicy bramble fruit on palate; cardamom, crushed pepper, sweet oak. Round tannins; fresh, lively acidity. EB (3/10)

Superripe and jammy, with expressive baked cherry pie aromas and lively plum, licorice and smoky spice flavors. Drink now through 2014. 2,700 cases made. -TF ** SOLD OUT **

Ripe, exotic and loaded with personality. Aromas of ripe blackberry, underbrush and licorice lead to concentrated huckleberry and cracked-pepper beef flavors that finish with lively tannins. Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah and Mataro. Best from 2010 through 2015.

Plum/cherry nose. Integrated oak, old-vine spice, complex mineral notes. Full-bodied; ripe bramble fruit surrounds elegant tannins. Firm acid provides refreshment on the palate, and in the lingering finish. EB (7/09)
