The nose showed dark brooding berry fruit with vanilla, cinnamon, cherry tobacco and a bit of varnish. On the palate it was smooth with a full velvety body and flavors of black raspberry jam, minerals and bark. The long finish showed dried cherry fruit. Beautiful!

From winemaker Paul Draper comes a truly iconic Zinfandel. For several decades, the Lytton Springs vineyard in Sonoma County has been the source for these well-balanced, pure, and age-worthy bottlings. While rambunctious in their youth, a few years of cellaring brings out layers of flavors and an elegant quality very rarely found in California Zinfandel.

Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of 74 percent Zinfandel, 13 percent Petite Sirah, 8 percent Carignane, 3 percent Grenache, 2 Mataro. Three Valleys is the proprietary name for the only Ridge wine blended from multiple vineyard sites. They select softer, more accessible lots from their single vineyards and, taking the role of winemaker literally, create a character they find most appealing. Ridge blind-tasted all the lots in spring, creating this elegant blend.
