Ridge Syrah Dry Creek Valley Lytton West Vineyard 1984

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Wow this is fantastic from the get go. The nose is packed with sweet, candied fruit and is really very complex with notes of cedar, mint, shoe polish VA, wood, some animal tones and a lovely hint of brambly black fruit weaving in and out of the glass. On the palate this is smooth and rich, seamless with bright plummy fruits and cedary notes on the backend and onto the surprisingly long, and fairly complex finish that shows a lovely forest floor tone. Absolutely spectacular bottle of aged Zin a new benchmark for me! 93pts
