Ricossa Moscato d'Asti 2016

External Review by We Speak Wine:

This Moscato d'Asti DOCG is brilliant with a pale yellow colour with golden reflexes. The scent is intense and persistent, fine and delicately aromatic, fruity, floral and fragrant. The taste is sweet, a bit warm, soft and fresh, persistent and equilibrated with a good structure. Serve it with desserts, especially with fruit based cakes or dry pastries. - Winery

Ricossa is a wine and grappa producer based in Piedmont, Italy. Lorenzo Ricossa built the Portacomarese distillery on the outskirts of Asti in the late 1800s. He worked closely with local growers to source grapes for his products, and capitalized on one of the region’s earliest railways by opening a lodge near the distillery to house business travelers. This soon became a central meeting place for industry professionals, who were welcomed like family. Today, the Ricossa traditions are upheld with wines produced from grapes sourced throughout Piedmont, still in close working relationships with top quality vineyards. The wines are traditional Piedmontese styles of Barolo, Gavi, Barbera d’Asti, Moscato d’Asti, Cortese and Casorzo.  Read less
