Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon Monterey County 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

No one wants to believe us when we tell them that they can have this wine for under 10.00 This is a hearty Cabernet Sauvignon with structure and concentration. Dark and intense in color. Hints of cedar and oak, with layers of raspberry, plum, mocha, and currant. Firm tannins with big fruit flavors lead to a lengthy and persistent finish. It's a great wine to take to dinners with family and friends. We probably don't need to say that a wine like this will work best with a hearty red meat dish, but we will any way. We can also confirm that this is the ultimate hamburger wine.

Rex Goliath:
At age 70, I have had at least 50 yrs. of a glass of wine after my evening meals. Just recently, I noticed the Rex-Goliath Chardonnay on the shelf in our local grocery store liquor department (I live in a very small town). I decided to try it. WOW!! It's like what one would imagine drinking a glass of satin would be like. SMOOTH AS SATIN and OMG so very DELICIOUS. You have a new customer... Read more

I don't know how long you've been in business, however, I hope you are in business for a very very long time to come. I will definitely pass on my find to all of my friends. Read less

For $6 this is fantastic! Plain attack, but decent fruits follow, a bit tart and simple with a medium finish.

I opened this for a party and never got a chance to get a glass. My guests asked where I picked this up from so I will go with the idea that this is a nice vintage for finger foods and holiday cheer.

Wasn't able to record my tasting but remember that I would buy again. Will have to update later.

Sweet with hints of spice, pepper and chocolate . Nothing remarkable except the price. I would rather pay a few more dollars for a wine with a little more depth and character .

This gets 3 glasses in part because of its price. Nice party wine.

Was opened. I didn't try it. Went bad. Heard it wasn't spectacular.

Surprisingly smooth and drinkable for the price. Love this as an everyday wine with dinner.

This wine is an under $10 steal that is nothing to scoff at. Immense flavors of raspberry plum mocha and currant flood together and lead to an extended finish. Layers of cedar and oak allow this wine to be a hearty addition to any red meat dish. However the winemaker himself calls it the “ultimate hamburger wine.”
