Reserva de Caliboro 2009 - 88 points, Wine Enthusiast/ This is an earthy, somewhat flat wine with herbal berry aromas that fall away in quiet form. A full, grabby palate brings berry, raisin and tobacco flavors, all supported by a modest beam of acidity. A finish of earth, tobacco and mulchy flavors announce that 2009 was indeed a hot vintage in Chile.

One Good Bottle/ Each month we taste scores of wines. This is one of our recent favorites. Very focused for a Chilean bordeaux-style red, with cherry fruit and a nice peppery bitterness.

Buying Guide/ A very modern-tasting wine, from vines still in their infancy, this is the first vintage released by Cinzano's Chilean venture. The blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% cabernet franc is jammy and forward, with intense blackberry and vanilla components, yet also a sense of firm structure to back them up. Fresh on the finish.
