Surrounded by some of America’s oldest Zinfandel vineyards, Renwood Winery is located in the picturesque California foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Renwood produces world-class award winning wines from Amador County and the Sierra Foothills. Boston native Robert Smerling founded Renwood in 1993. Mr. Smerling fell in love with Amador County’s rich history and magnificent vineyards. A plan was set in place to build one of America’s premier Zinfandel wineries. Mr. Smerling brought together a group of professional investors who helped him found the company. Wine production has grown from 2,500 cases in 1993 to over 100,000 cases today. The critics all agree Renwood produces consistently exceptional wines covering the spectrum from big, bold, jammy Zins to wonderfully balanced Syrahs and Barberas. Today we produce over 18 different wines, including 2 Proprietary wines, 3 Vineyard Designated wines, 6 Amador County wines, 4 Red Label wines and 3 Dessert wines. With the introduction of our Red Label Series from our younger vines, Renwood has entered a new phase in its development. We are able to provide quality wine at reasonable prices to the wine by-the-glass trade and major floor displays in supermarkets and large retailers throughout the country. As part of the continuing expansion, Renwood acquired Santino Winery in 1995. Today, we have 50,000 square feet of production space in Plymouth. In addition to the Plymouth site, we have an Ione facility with 15,000 square feet of production space. Our Tasting Room and Hospitality Center are open daily from 10:30 to 5:30. Last year, Renwood entertained 40,000 visitors at our Tasting Room. You can find Renwood wines in all 50 states and 16 foreign countries. Renwood has been featured in Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine Magazine, Touring & Tasting, Decanter, and many other magazines. Renwood has been awarded top medals at world wine competitions including California State Fair, Los Angeles County Fair, San Francisco International Wine Competition, Hilton Head Wine Festival, Atlanta Wine Challenge and many more worldwide. Our flagship wine, Renwood Grandpère® Zinfandel comes from the oldest clone of Zinfandel in America dating back to the 1860’s. This unique wine has won worldwide acclaim, as Americas most loved Zinfandel! For more information, visit our website at www.renwood.com Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Nutty oak and almond aromas greet the nose over a base of plum and black cherry fruit. Rich, chewy and dark in the mouth with too much wood and vanilla for my palate though it is fairly well integrated with the black cherry fruit on the palate. The finish turns a bit candied again and shows both plenty of vanilla cream and increasingly aggressive wood tannins. 85pts

Dark ruby in color, the bouquet of this wine consists of cranberry, allspice, nutmeg and blackberry. With immediate flavors of ripe berry fruits, holiday spices follow and then lead into chalky tannins and a touch of vanilla bean.

Juicy and zesty, with soft cherry, caramel and spice flavors. Drink now. 18,000 cases made. -TF A fresh and youthful wine featuring strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas with just a hint of oak. The flavors are soft and flavorful with an appealing tang on the finish. This wine reminds us of old time Zinfandel where the fruit is prominent and the wine very honest with great drinkability. This wine is not serious or complicated, and with none of the heavy influence of oak or overzealous cellaring, it is a great sipping wine. - WineryGRAPE VARIETY: 86% Zinfandel10% Primitivo2% Roussane1% Mourvedre1% SouzaoALCOHOL (%): 14.5RESIDUAL SUGAR (%): 0.75PH: 3.75ACIDITY (%): 0.56

CaliforniaRenwood Zinfandel is a true red wine gem from one of the top wineries in California. Situated in the picturesque Amador County of northern California, Renwood Winery is surrounded by the rolling hills and rushing streams of California's gold country. Renwood was established in 1993 and is one of the most respected wine producers in the Sierra Foothills, specializing in Zinfandel. Renwood Winery is a grateful steward of the land, reflected in its commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable farming and production techniques. Renwood has long been renowned for its robust, richly flavored Zinfandels, many of them made from old, dry-farmed vines. Renwood Zinfandel is described by the winemaker as "a fresh and youthful wine. Strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas, with just a hint of oak. The flavors are soft and flavorful with an appealing tang on the finish. This wine is reminiscent of old time Zinfandel, where the fruit is prominent and the wine's character is very honest with great drinkability. Not serious or complicated, and with none of the heavy influence of oak or overzealous cellaring, it is a great sipping wine." With beautiful balance and a long, smooth finish, it's the perfect American red wine for Thanksgiving!Enjoy Renwood Zinfandel with your Thanksgiving turkey, or with roast chicken, BBQ ribs, grilled vegetables and cheeses.
