Food Pairings for Renieri Supertuscan Blend Toscana IGT Invetro
Very nice Tuscan blend of sangiovese, cab and merlot. Nicely balanced, medium weight with fresh and lively fruit. This doesn't have the mustiness that some sangiovese carries, with the cab showing its presence on the mid palate and the merlot adding some roundness.
This was so good that I accidentally drank the whole bottle in one sitting. So why am I only giving it a 4/5? Even though it's a 2008, I feel it could stand to age a bit more and the finish was a tad bit on the bitter side. There is quite a bit forward fruit and I paired it with a steak, then basically finished it alone. It stood up well with the steak, fish is next then possibly duck. It has characteristics of dark berry, oak and a bit of spice. Definitely a buy the case contender.
Good red wine. Just a little pricey at Total wine 14.99.
External Reviews for Renieri Supertuscan Blend Toscana IGT Invetro
This Super Tuscan tasteshellip; well, super! The 50% Sangiovese gives the wine bright cherry fruit and vibrant acidity, while the remaining Cabernet and Merlot add rich black fruit and firm tannins. Notes of fig and raisin are prominent, giving a lush complexity to the wine. Excellent with braised meats, or anything out of the slow cooker.
The 2009 Invetro is an attractive, mid-weight wine laced with expressive dark fruit, spices, mocha, new leather and licorice. The length and overall sense of harmony compensate for the wineandrsquo;s slightly compact personality. The Invetro is a delicious wine at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2011andndash;2014.
Invetro (andldquo;in glassandrdquo;) sports an innovative glass stopper that locks in all of its bright berry nuances. The blend is Sangiovese (50%) with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and a fruity core is wrapped in layers of tobacco and leather.
Closed with a pretty glass cork, Invetro (translated as ldquo;in glassrdquo; in Italian) offers fresh tones of wild berry and raspberry. This easy, lively red blend would match succulent meat or spicy pork.
The 2008 Invetro is a ridiculously delicious wine for the money. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot from vineyards in Montalcino. The Invetro flows from the glass with layers of dark red fruit, herbs, minerals and spices, all of which come together on a medium-bodied, focused frame of impeccable elegance. This is a very serious wine; in fact it needs at least another year in bottle. Needless to say, it is a screaming value. Anticipated maturity: 2011ndash;2016.

The 2008 Rosso di Montalcino is a gorgeous wine laced with tons of Sangiovese character in its red cherries, dried flowers, licorice and mint. This mid-weight, feminine Rosso delivers notable quality for the money. The firm tannins and bright acidity are all Sangiovese but the delicacy of the fruit recalls Pinot Noir. This is a lovely effort from Renieri. Anticipated maturity: 2010ndash;2015.
