Renieri Brunello di Montalcino 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Spectacular aromas of dark fruits such as cherries with undertones of peaches and orange peel and some floral character, too. Full body, layered and rich. Lightly chewy tannins. Incredibly long and flavorful. Makes you want to drink it now but it will age beautifully.- James Suckling *(98points)

The Renieri estate is located in the southern part of Montalcino on high altitude slopes. Owner/Winemaker Marco Bacci puts intense focus on his vineyards to produce the best possible fruit. His 70 acres of vines face southeast to southwest at around 1,200 above sea level. These high altitude vines are planted in uniquely diverse, iron-rich soil that's rare for this region. High density plantings are utilized to create extremely low yields. This wine scored 95 points from James Suckling who said "Very perfumed with chocolate, berries and spices. Some nuts, too. Full body, velvety tannins and a luscious finish. Extremely long and generous yet shows reserve. Drink in 2019." On SALE!!

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino offers a gorgeous appearance with a dark burgundy color and thick saturation. The bouquet is rich and complete with layer after layer of ripe fruit intensity. The effect is succulent and rich. This Brunello drinks beautifully right now and shows a contemporary style with thick extraction and soft tannins. The mouthfeel also delivers good density and fullness, and that does not come easy in this vintage." and 95 points from James Suckling who said "Very perfumed with chocolate, berries and spices.
