Rene Leclerc Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 1988

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Absolutely at peak with explosive aromatics of dried and preserved meats, puddles of summer mud, sour cherry pie and faded spice notes. Silky yet fresh in the mouth with a simple yet refined character that has the knife edge elegance of mature Burgundy. Not overwhelming but a very nice wine absolutely at peak. I'd opt to drink this sooner rather than later to enjoy the fruit while it lasts. 2009-2013 90pts
