Reneacute; Barbier wines combine that sophisticated packaging with a sophisticated idea mdash; that many people want to drink inexpensive wines which are just simple and good. no pretensions. No big flavor impact. And no big price. Even some of the most sophisticated sommeliers who tasted on our panels, when presented with Mediterranean White at $4.99 a bottle feel compelled to recommend it. Itrsquo;s clean, crisp and tasty.

Ripe plum and tobacco aromas are generous, but the wine turns lighter on the palate, with scratchy tannins and modest cherry and herb flavors. A light, almost citrusy acidity keeps it fresh. Drink now.

Despite an opening that features some vinegary sharpness and mulch, therersquo;s also decent berry fruit notes and milk chocolate sweetness to the nose. Feels about as yoursquo;d expect, which means itrsquo;s zesty and lean, with cherry, plum and herbal flavors. Juicy and minty on the finish.
