Rendola Rosso di Montalcino 2007

External Review:

A spectacular vintage in Tuscany brings this delightful 2006 Rosso from Rendola. 100% Sangiovese from hillside vineyards at altitudes of 300 to 1,500 feet. The wine is vinified in stainless steel and temperature controlled. After fermentation half of the wine is aged in large neutral casks and while the other half is aged in small French oak barrels for 10-12 months. This balanced approach brings an intensely fruit laden expression of Sangiovese, showing wild cherry tinged with vanillin oak.
Fattoria di Rendola is an estate in the Tuscan countryside that accommodates guests in either its onsite villa-turned-hotel or in apartments in its farmhouse. It's surrounded by a farm that produces wine and olive oil. The rosso is their red wine offering.
