Chinon 2010 - Recommended, iSantemagazine.com/ Herbacious aromas of cooking spice, with red and black fruit notes, and a touch of black pepper. Smooth and subtle on the palate, offering cooked raspberry and currant fruit, with a note of stone and earthiness. Balanced finish.
You Don't Say.../ A delicious stand-in for pricey pinot noir, this light red is made from the cabernet franc grape, and its acidity makes it a great match for seafood. You'll sound like a French aristocrat ordering it.
Where Cab Franc Shines/ Dark garnet. Red berries and a whiff of red-clay earthiness. More subtle than fruit-forward, raspberries and white pepper, tart acidity and soft, smooth tannins. Good young Chinon, enjoyable and interesting now. I like to match the earthy fruit of Loire Cabernet Franc against the mixed flavors of Asian fare. This one made a fine match with a lightly spicy pork-and-bean-curd West China standard, Ma Po tofu. More traditionally, it’s a versatile match with poultry, pork, lighter red meats, and a range of cheeses. In the age of the strong Euro, value doesn’t get much better than the lower tends for excellent young Chinon like this.

Value Brands of the Year: Top 5 French Value Brands/ The 2007 Chinon is fragrant and refreshing, with a gravelly minerality. Take it on a summer picnic.
Chinon 2011 - 86 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Stalky and aromatic, the wine is cool, full of red fruits with an herbaceous edge. Berry fruits are laced with tight acidity and a mineral character, backed up by chewy tannins.
Chinon 2007/ Ruby-red. Cherry and blackcurrant on the nose, with hints of pepper and anise adding interest. Juicy, faintly bitter red and dark berry flavors show a tart edge and come across like a rich but slightly rustic Beaujolais. Pleasantly fruity and easy to drink.
