Redwood Creek 187 Cabernet 2006
Redwood Creek represents the adventurous spirit of California and consistently delivers a rich, flavorful experience at an attractive price. Product Description This medium-bodied 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon has a round body that combines flavors of fresh blueberries and black cherries that are accentuated by brown spice, mocha and hints of vanilla. Cal's Harvest Notes Temperatures throughout mid-August through early November were mild and ideal to ripen the light to normal wine grape crop. Patience in the vineyards allowed for the development of mature flavors in the Cabernet Sauvignon, with ripe soft tannins.

One of those wines that doesn't have any predominant notes, just nicely balanced flavors and aromas all the way around. Tannins are controlled, with nice fruit and smokiness. Selected this for our weekly beef fest and it was a terrific match. While I wouldn't call this an easy drinking cab, I would gladly drink this on its own or with some serious cheese.
This wasn't my favorite. Had no fruit whatsoever. Smelled like nothing and tasted bitter or like burnt wood.
Very smooth, light tannins. Very pleasantly surprised with it's overall quality
Great wine for the price, really clean finish. Nice nose too.
External Reviews for Redwood Creek 187 Cabernet
Shows the delicate softness of Alexander Valley Cabernet with the elegance that good viticulture and winemaking can bring to wine. This is a really drinkable Cabernet but it's not a simple one. Shows layers of complexity in the way the ripe fruit oak tannins and acids all play off each other. -- Wine Enthusiast 90 Points
Purple red with coffee and dark fruit aromas. Flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cedar, and tobacco with hints of vanilla and dark chocolate that linger in a long, elegant finish.
